About Our Church |
|
We extend a warm welcome to all who wish to worship God in this place and to share in our fellowship and activities.
There are about 250 church members and up to 200 people gather for worship on Sunday mornings. We try to be relevant to our day and age and local community in our worship, and seek to celebrate God’s love and concern for humankind through imaginative prayer, preaching, reflection and music.
We are pleased to welcome young children into worship. A small play area is available in the church for use on mornings when all-age worship is planned.
We are open to opportunities for service in the community and like to make our church premises available for community use. There is a wide range of Activities at the Avenue offered on the premises.
The church buildings were opened in 1963, and the worship area refurbished and improved in 1992. We care about our buildings and seek to make them an attractive and valued facility for worship and fellowship for all.
Coffee is served in the church hall after morning worship (accessible through the side door in the church).
Baptisms are usually held once a month either during morning worship or as a separate act of worship at 12:30 pm. We offer preparation sessions when we explain the significance of baptism and the arrangements we make for your child/children to be baptised.
The Sunday Seekers meets each Sunday morning at 10:45 am with distinctive provision made for two age groups. There is a crèche facility for small children. |
